“Black Panther” is the first superhero movie of MCU (Marvel Movie Universe) which has an impressive, powerful female cast, voice and role in the movie.
Historically, the female characters in Marvel’s movie universe have often played the role of male superheroes, including Pepper Potts (Iron Man), Peggy Carter (Captain America) Black Widow, Maria Hill Special Agent, Scarlett Witch (Avengers). To Thor: Ragnarok, the influence of the Valkyrie heroine (Thor: Ragnarok) is more important.
But to Black Panther, the 18th movie in MCU, there was not just one, but most of the female characters in the movie left a strong mark. Four female warriors, four “black roses” have their own charms, played a key role in the success of the superblack Black Panther.
1. Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)
Nakia was born in 1998 and is a member of Dora Milaje, the loyal female guard of the Black Panther. Bringing love to the Black Panther – T’Challa and want to win all her superhero love, she even killed his ex-Black Panther girlfriend, causing her expulsion. She later decided to go to the side of the villain Killmonger.
However, in the movie version, Nakia is built quite the opposite. She became an international spy for Wakanda, carrying on her the ideal of an equal and happy life for all ethnic people.
Nakia is one of the most impressive characters in Marvel’s wide-screen for years.
Confidence, strength, determination and determination to fight hard for peace, abandoned every “rich name” when T’Challa is the queen is what impressed the audience. this girl
Assuming this role is the 34-year-old Kenyan actress – Lupita Nyong’o. Although not many movies but Lupita was a familiar name in Hollywood.
She won an Oscar for Best Female Performance in a 12 Years A Slave. Besides Black Panther, Lupita also voiced two of Disney’s other blockbusters, The Jungle Book and Star Wars 7, 8.
Each time on the red carpet, Lupita Nyong’o attracted attention by splendid, prominent outfits. She was voted one of the most colorful women in fashion.
2. Empress Ramonda (Angela Bassett)
Debuting in the comic book of 1989, Ramonda is the queen of the kingdom of Wakanda. T’Challa thinks she dies after her father’s death, but Ramonda is actually kidnapped and needs her son to be rescued. Back home, Empress Dowager became the most trusted Black Panther.
In the film, Ramonda has experienced the pain of losing her husband, witnessed the pain when T’Challa struggled with the title Black Panther before the danger, trap, strong. However, the character also has enough composure when needed to help revive Wakanda.
The affection of a queen, Ramonda’s powerful aristocratic style is reflected on the screen impressively and superbly under the ability of the famous black female star Angela Bassett.
American Horror Story starred in a number of prestigious film awards, an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe, an Emmy.
3. Shuri (Letitia Wright)
Shuri’s character in the comic version of the Black Panther is a member of the royal family of Wakanda and has the same power as his brother T’Challa. The Shuri image was changed quite a lot when it was adapted to widescreen.
In the comics, she was a half-brother to T’Challa and later became the first female Black Panther, replacing her older brother when he was wounded by the Doctor Doom attack.
She joined MCU as a creative and genius inventor. In the new movie, 16-year-old Shuri will introduce some high-tech weapons she has developed.
Marvel Studios even revealed that the sister of the “Black Leopard” T’Challa also owns intelligence far better than Tony Stark / Iron Man with sophisticated technology items. Soon, the Shuri character is confirmed to be back in the Avengers: Infinity War.
Shuri is the young star of Letitia Wright. Before going to Hollywood, she only appeared in some small roles of British television series. By the year 2017, Letitia began to pay attention when participating in the movie Black Mirror part 4 and is really famous after the blockbuster Black Panther
4. Okoye (Danai Gurira)
In the comic strip, Okoye is a member of Dora Milaje, the loyal female guard of the Black Panther. Each of them comes from a different tribe, and has the opportunity to become queen later.
In the MCU, Okoye was incorporated from the original character and Aneka of the original. She is the commanding officer of the bodyguard Dora Milaje, the only female warrior, possessed of sublime maneuverability and also a loyal adviser to the Black Panther T’Challa. Okoye also frequently teases the king, creating humorous, interesting situations.
The courage of General Okoye really impressed with the viewer. The short-haired, toned-down, red-haired girl in Okaye’s most memorable gown is the most memorable of the movie.
In the movie, she has an affair with the warrior W’Kabi (played by Daniel Kaluuya). That caused controversy because in the comics, Okoye was gay and had an affair with Ayo (another member of Dora Milaje).
The role was played by Zimbabwean American actor Danai Guira (40). Before pursuing acting career, Danai Guira was a social psychologist and master of arts. She is best known for her television series The Walking Dead.
