‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’: Wes Anderson’s Utopia Project

For those who are interested in film, especially those who love high-quality film, the name Wes Anderson is no stranger to them. At the age of 44, Wes Anderson has been cast in Hollywood’s best directors.
Three Oscars, three BAFTA nominations, three Golden Bear Awards (including The Grand Budapest Hotel) and one Palme d’Or for Wes Anderson.

The master makes a mark

Wes Anderson has never and probably never become a director of major commercial projects. The style and style of the film he pursues is completely different than the type of blockbuster in the summer or the year of Hollywood.
Wes Anderson is a master of making low-budget independent projects a culturally significant work, such as The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox or even become a masterpiece like Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom.

The Grand Budapest Hotel

The story is slow, the camera continually moves horizontally and the system zooms vertically (typically the Moonrise Kingdom). When it comes to emphasizing a scene, Wes Anderson often deliberately gets close to the character. In addition, he also focused on the aesthetics, color processing and music appeal. Wes Anderson is one of a handful of filmmakers to create distinctive and unusual visual styles (context, architecture, color scheme, angle, scene size).
Maybe it was Wes Anderson who did not belong to the popular director, so everyone was aware. But if anybody is “enjoying” his film, he will die tired of Wes Anderson.

Ambitious project

After the success of Moonrise Kingdom in 2012, Wes Anderson returned with an ambitious and really crazy project. Just look at the cast list, we have seen how the Grand Budapest Hotel “crazy” to what extent.
In this latest film, Wes Anderson invites nearly all the actors who have worked with him in the past as well as the big names. All of them, from Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel, Tilda Swinton to Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Jude Law, Adrien Brody and even the young star girl. The Saoirse Ronan are in line with the cast. It is impossible to gather the cast.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is highly appreciated. Many critics say that this is the best work of Wes Anderson to date.
The opening of the upcoming 64th Berlin Film Festival (February 16th) in Germany is not the other, but the Grand Budapest Hotel. The film is currently nominated for the Golden Bear along with 19 other contenders. By the beginning of March, Fox Searchlight will officially launch The Grand Budapest Hotel in the US market.
