To spearhead the summer of 2020, director Steven Spielberg is aiming to start filming Indiana Jones 5 in 2019.
Since the release of Disney, Lucasfilm has focused on the Star Wars franchise with just three movies. However, they also own a well-known brand is Indiana Jones. Part 5 has been planned for many years. Steven Spielberg, the director of the previous four will continue to return to hosting the project. The script will be written by David Koepp, who has worked with Spielberg on previous projects such as Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds. Archaeologist Henry Jones Jr. will be starred by veteran star Harrison Ford.
After finishing other productions such as The Post and Ready Player One, Spielberg has time to focus on Indiana Jones 5. According to THR, he is aiming to start filming for the movie in 2019. With this date, the movie will have plenty of time to finish before it hits theaters in July.
By the year 2019, lead actor Harrison Ford will turn 77 years old. This makes many fans fear he will be a bit old to play an action hero as Indiana Jones. In recent projects the letter The Force Awakens or Blade Runner 2049, Harrison Ford did not make too many action scenes. Most likely, Indiana Jones will pass the fedora hat and whip to a younger character in the upcoming movie.
Not much information about the plot of the 5 was revealed. But according to the original, Indiana Jones son of Mutt Williams played by Shia LaBeouf will not return in the new movie.
Hopefully more information on the project will be announced in the near future. After the disappointing Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Dr. Jones has always needed a re-enactment, worthy of the anticipation of the fans.
Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on July 10, 2020.
